Meet the Solano County Family Law Bench:

Garry T. Ichikawa, Dept. 14, Judge  (Fairfield branch of the Solano County Superior Court):

Judge Ichikawa was appointed to the bench in 2000 and is the Supervising Family Law Judge.  Judge Ichikawa was a family law practitioner before becoming a family law judge.  He has also served as a juvenile dependency judge.  Judge Ichikawa was the recipient of the California State Bar Association's 2015 Aranda award in recognition of his efforts to improve Solano County residents' access to the courts.

The Supervising Family Law Judge is tasked with ensuring that the importance of the family court is known to the other bench officers, that the resources necessary to serve family law litigants (sufficient judges, mediators, evaluators, minor's counsel) are available, overseeing ongoing training for other family law judges and staff, developing appropriate court procedures, and other important matters that heavily impact family law practitioners and litigants alike.

Christine A. Carringer, Dept. 12, Judge (Fairfield branch of the Solano County Superior Court):

Judge Carringer was appointed to the bench on December 31, 2013, and has been assigned to the Family Law bench ever since. Judge Carringer practiced personal injury law prior to becoming a judge, as well as arbitration and mediation.

Cynda Riggins Unger, Dept. 5, Judge  (Fairfield branch of the Solano County Superior Court):

Judge Unger was elected to the Solano County bench in 2000, and has spent many years presiding over family law cases. Judge Unger was named the California Bar Association's 2006 Judicial Officer of the Year.  Judge Unger was a family law attorney and Certified Family Law Specialist prior to becoming a Solano County Superior Court Family Law Judge.

David Haet, Dept. 20, Commissioner (Fairfield branch of the Solano County Superior Court):

Commissioner Haet presides over family law matters as well as child support actions handled by the Department of Child Support Services (DCSS).  Commissioner Haet was named the California Bar Association's 2008 Judicial Officer of the Year.  Commissioner Haet was a family law attorney and Certified Family Law Specialist prior to becoming a Solano County Superior Court Family Law Commissioner.
